The Most Popular Wedding Destinations

Welcome back dear readers, let’s get back into the swing of things with favorable wedding destinations this month! I think it’s safe to say that we’ve all pictured a romantic seashore wedding ceremony in a tropical paradise… Most of this daydreaming stems from many different reasons. First off, if you live in a cold weather environment for half of the year, you may prefer to skip out on a winter wedding. Although a summer wedding might be the ideal goal, the season includes skyrocketing prices for venues, catering, music and entertainment, and so on. Nonetheless, all of your favorite local venues may already be booked for years in advance.

Another popular reason for having a destination wedding? Spending more time with loved ones and guests over a few days - not just a few hours. Speaking of spending, the average destination wedding is actually more affordable when compared to staying home. Resorts love to host weddings and sell packages. With enough research, you can save a few thousand dollars in the long run. This includes checking off a travel location from the bucket list, having a two-for-one wedding and honeymoon, and photo ops galore.

Where to Have a Destination Wedding

According to U.S. News & World Reports, the best and cheap locations for a ceremony are most commonly found in the Carribean and Latin America. To name a few of our personal favorites from the list: Jamaica, Costa Rica, Tulum, Puerto Vallarta, Trinidad & Tobago.

Jamaica is home to Sandals Resort - a very popular name in the wedding game. You can’t go wrong with friendly locals and gorgeous beaches. Costa Rica is popular with American retirees who have made a home there but it’s also affordable in airfare and hotels. Plus, it’s a tropical wedding dream! Tulum is located near the world famous Cancun beach but is a bit more laid back and the beaches are just as breathtaking. Puerto Vallarta is located not too far from Los Angeles, you can take a Southwest Flight there! Plus you have old town Vallarta for the perfect photo-op, shopping and local food galore. Last but not least, the Carribbean islands for those who love nature: Trinidad & Tobago. Known for their pristine shores, you can hang out with the native flamingos on their immaculate all white-sand beaches while toasting to love.
